How to put manages.me on a Windows PC so you can connect from your browser.
What you need
- A Windows PC you want to reach remotely (must stay on and online).
- Your manages.me account (email + password).
- Administrator access on that PC — you’ll approve one security prompt during setup.
- Internet on the PC (home or office network is fine).
Quick setup (recommended)
Use ManagesMe-Setup.cmd — double-click that file. If you double-click a .ps1 file, Windows 11 shows “Select an app to open this .ps1 file” (Notepad, etc.) and setup will not run.
- On the Windows PC, open Install on Windows or use the button below.
- Download ManagesMe-Setup.cmd to your Downloads folder.
- Double-click ManagesMe-Setup.cmd (not the .ps1 file).
- Click Yes on the Administrator (UAC) prompt. Complete the steps in the blue PowerShell window that opens.
- Enter your manages.me email, password, and a name for this PC (e.g. “Mom’s laptop”).
- Wait until you see Done! — the installer may take a few minutes the first time (it downloads RustDesk).
- On any device, go to manages.me → log in → My PCs → Connect.
Alternative: add the PC on the website first
- Log in → My PCs → + Add a PC and choose a name.
- Follow the setup page to download a script for that PC only, then run it on Windows (same UAC steps as above).
First time connecting in the browser
Remote view opens in your browser (nothing to install on the device you’re connecting from).
If the viewer asks for network settings once, use:
- ID server: manages.me
- API server: https://manages.me
- Key: EzvFSwVucldxN+fmtZBlsAHeI+s9Zl4W+F6dhiWALk4=
After that, use Connect on your dashboard — your PC should appear as active.
Troubleshooting
- PC stays “pending” — setup didn’t finish; run the host installer again as Administrator and watch for errors.
- “Select an app to open this .ps1 file” — you opened the wrong file. Download and run ManagesMe-Setup.cmd instead.
- “Run with PowerShell” missing — use ManagesMe-Setup.cmd, or Start → PowerShell (Admin) and run the commands from Install.
- SmartScreen / antivirus — the host file is a PowerShell script from manages.me; allow it or download again from this site only.
- Can’t connect in browser — confirm the Windows PC is on, awake, and online; try Connect again after a minute.
- Log file on the PC — C:\ProgramData\manages\ (if present from older installs).
Windows only · one-time admin during install · connect from Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
